We are reviewing our stock of walking out jackets at them moment so could all any ex players check the backs of their wardrobes for any Lindley jackets and ties hiding there. If you find any could you please bring them back to the band room either on Monday or Wednesday from 7.30 onwards. Of course if finding a jacket  re kindles your musical yearnings- don’t bring the jacket to the rehearsal – bring your instrument!

Wedding Bells

Wedding Bells

This spring has been an exciting time for Lindley’s lovely baritone players who have both tied the knot.  First down the aisle was 2nd Baritone Liz Dinsdale (as was) who married City of Bradford Percussionist, Les Tobitt.  She was closely followed the week after by 1st Baritone Gillian Lightfoot (as was), who married our own Flugel player Andrew Knight.
Love and congratulations to all four of you! xx

James McCabe

New MD

The Lindley Band is very pleased to announce the appointment of the well renowned cornet soloist James McCabe as Musical Director. A former Principal Cornet with the Fairey and Rothwell Temperance Bands, and Assistant/Co-Principal at Black Dyke Band, James will take up his post with Lindley after the Yorkshire Area. This allows him to fulfil his playing commitments in this contest with The Rothwell Temperance Band. James is looking forward to working with the band on a variety of exciting projects.

For the 2017 Area the band has secured the valuable services of Neil Jowett in the MD role who brings a plethora of experience to this position. Making a welcome return to the playing ranks are Paul Harrison and Robert Sykes on back row cornet and Martin Gledhill on baritone.
